A passion for flowers that runs in the family…

Mother-daughter team, Melanie and Kate began their flower story 25 years ago when Melanie was asked to help a friend with her wedding arrangements. What was originally a one-time job blossomed into a thriving small business that she ran until putting down her florist snips to pursue a career in teaching. Fast forward some decades later; after taking a floral design class as an elective at UGA, Kate discovered her mutual passion for flowers. It was then that the pair decided to take their floral fervor to the next level and launched InBloom Floral Design in the summer of 2024.

Meet Kate

Kate is a floral designer and client liaison; she is the friendly voice you will hear during your consultation appointments! Kate received her bachelors degree in horticulture from UGA and has built a career as a private estate gardener since 2022. This experience has heavily influenced her in the designs she creates; she loves to emphasize the natural forms and imperfect shapes of greenery and flowers when putting together an arrangement, creating a very organic, “fresh from the garden” feel. Aside from her love of flowers, she is an avid cyclist, crochet queen, and Sichuan-food enthusiast.

Meet Melanie

Boasting over 25 years of industry experience, Melanie is our lead floral designer! With a background in interior design, she loves to create bespoke florals that not only reflect the personality of the client, but also the event space. Being a lifetime nature-lover, she like Kate, draws inspiration from organic forms and uses the natural shapes of flowers and greenery to her advantage in her designs. When she isn’t in the studio, she loves going for long walks, listening to live music, and gardening!
